London Development Agency is said to be considering building a new Premier League football ground on the site
Olympic chiefs were facing fresh embarrassment today after it reports claimed the 拢525m stadium may be knocked down after the games.
The London Development Agency is said to be considering plans to demolish the 2012 venue and build a Premier League football club.
The plan is seen as a potentially cheaper alternative to subsidising the site as an athletes venue and a way to prevent it becoming a 鈥渨hite elephant鈥.
The original plan was to remove 55,000 seats after the games, leaving a 25,000-capacity athletics arena.
Tottenham and West Ham are thought to be likely contenders to want to move into the site.
Another Olympic project 鈥 the Athlete鈥檚 village 鈥 also came under scrutiny this week after Nigel Hugill, face of the project at developer Lend Lease, resigned.
