An Olympic Delivery Authority panel this week heard the final presentations from teams bidding to clinch the delivery partner role for the 2012 Olympics.
The group, including ODA chief executive David Higgins, ODA chair Jack Lemley and former spokesman for the prime minister Godric Smith, took two days to hear the proposals from the four rivals for the £5.2bn project.
The four are: Bechtel; the Legacy consortium made up of Bovis Lend Lease, Capita Symonds and KBR; Laing °¿â€™R´Ç³Ü°ù°ì±ð, Mace, CH2M and Davis Langdon; and the G3 consortium of Amec, Balfour Beatty, Jacobs, Gleeds and Faithful + Gould.
The American engineering, construction and company Bechtel is the favourite because of its size and reputation. It is also felt that as an individual bidder it ought to be less complicated to deal with.
Last month all the candidates went through a two-week competitive dialogue where the ODA questioned them. The winner is expected to be made public at the end of this month.
