Midlands councils look for contractors to join small works programme
A £1bn framework to carry out small works for councils in the Midlands has been put out for tender.
Procurement body Scape System Build is organising the deal which covers work for Derby, Derbyshire, Gateshead, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire councils.
Scape is looking for six contractors to join the framework, which will cover contracts up to £2m let by public sector bodies across the region.
An OJEU notice for the framework said contracts let under the deal “will include minor construction works for new build, refurbishment and maintenance of the following building types: housing, education, universities and colleges of further education and training establishments, leisure recreation and culture, health, prisons, library, fire, ambulance & police, day-care, nursery care, social care, elderly homes, specialist facilities, transport depots, bus stations, farms, recycling facilities, offices & other contracting authority operational, residential, industrial & commercial buildings.”
Interested firms will have to demonstrate a strong relationship with their supply chain.
