This week鈥檚 #buildingdoodle sketch is by Duncan Finch, director of Avanti Architects. He says: 鈥淭he sketch explores how a major addition to an existing hospital can address complex functional requirements while resolving the hospital鈥檚 relationship with its urban context. A hierarchy of public spaces is created, ranging from a new main entrance elevation responding to the scale and materiality of the adjacent University of Sheffield, to a series of garden courts that integrate the rear of the hospital into quiet residential streets of Victorian villas.鈥�
