Renzo Piano scheme to be built by Mace
New images of how Sellar’s £850m Paddington Square development will look when finished have been released.
The 14-storey office block, which is also known as the Cube, is due to be completed by February 2022. Architect Renzo Piano’s plans include retail and restaurant space along with a new public square.
Erith has completed demolition work at the west London site while an Erith-led team, which also includes Laing O’Rourke-owned Expanded and Morrisroe, is carrying out piling and excavation work. Piling is substantially complete with enabling works now underway.
Known as the basement box, the piling and enabling works scheme, which has a £40m price tag, will eventually be the new home of a ticket hall for the Bakerloo line station at Paddington along with retail.
Mace, who beat Sir Robert McAlpine and Multiplex to the £350m building deal earlier this year, is due to start main construction work on the Piano building next summer.
