Images show state of Paddington, Bond Street and Whitechapel stations
New photos reveal the amount of work still to be carried out inside three of Crossrail’s central London stations.
The railway has published photos of progress at Paddington, Whitechapel and Bond Street stations taken last month.
The trio have been considered among the most challenging projects on the scheme’s to-do list, with Bond Street the sole station not expected to be ready in time to open by March 2021 – the end date in the six month opening window laid out by chief executive Mark Wild.
The pictures appear to show unfinished escalators, platforms and ticket halls.
Paddington and Bond Street are both being built by a Costain/Skanska joint venture while Whitechapel is being built by a team comprising Balfour Beatty, Morgan Sindall and Vinci.

Crossrail’s board revealed last week it had been forced to splash more cash on Bond Street, though the amount of additional funding the station needed was not disclosed.
The most recent images come four months after photos revealed some of the work being carried out at the Crossrail station that has been at the centre of a row between the project’s management and Canary Wharf.
Images published on the Crossrail website in June showed ongoing work on the station’s escalators, as well as construction being carried out on the new platforms.
Canary Wharf station, which was built and partially financed by Canary Wharf Group, was the first station handed back to Crossrail in 2015.
