It contains information on environment-friendly building products, including sheep's wool insulation from four UK-based suppliers and hemp, flax and cork insulation products. Each product entry includes suggested uses, price, availability, certification status and environmental credentials.

The National Cavity Insulation Association's new site shows how specifiers can improve the thermal insulation of walls to comply with Part L of the ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV Regulations. The site reveals how a U-value of 0.35 W/m2K can be achieved using an injected insulation fill with traditional brick-and-block construction. It also contains product data on a range of insulation types and information on the 25-year Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency.

The Institution of Civil Engineers has created a virtual library of peer-reviewed technical papers. The ICE claims it will be the most comprehensive online archive on the subject of civil engineering in the world, with more than 20,000 papers available for download. Reports, drawings and photographs from almost every British-trained civil engineer in the world from 1836-1998 are on the site, claims the ICE.

Plumbing and heating manufacturer IBP has launched a site to help plumbers and specifiers choose the appropriate plumbing fittings. The site features a "find a fitting" search engine and also has information on the recommended way to make a secure joint. Installation problems are covered in a "frequently asked questions" section and technical information can be downloaded in PDF format.
