Paul Smith uses ballroom technique to beat ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV magazine for the first time in Challenge Trophy.
ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV magazine was finally skittled by British Gypsum last week in the annual BG Challenge Trophy.
British Gypsum narrowly squeezed out ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV in a keenly contested game of ten-pin bowling at the Hollywood Bowl in the London outer suburb of Finchley.
ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV appeared to be cruising to a hat-trick of victories over British Gypsum when BG marketing head honcho Paul Smith conjured up a match winning 155 points in the second of his two games.
After a modest score of 74 in the first game Smith scored four consecutive strikes in his second to overhaul µþ³Ü¾±±ô»å¾±²Ô²µâ€™s lead bowlers Alex Smith and Socratis Socratous.
Paul Smith’s high scoring was in part down to his stylish delivery. The graceful arc of the trailing leg was particularly smooth and was due, according to a team-mate, to Smith's passion for ballroom dancing.
Although Smith came third overall with an average points score of 115, he enabled BG to edge out ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV with an average player score of 93.45 to 92.78.
The overall winner was Alex Smith with a score of 131, while Socratous trailed in second a point behind.
