Szerelmey has launched a lightweight prefabricated wall structure combined with external stone cladding that it says speeds up construction and cuts costs
The system comprises a series of steel-framed insulated panels that can be erected to form the non-load-bearing structure of a building, closing it off and making it weatherproof in a relatively short time. The system allows for the use of external stone cladding as well as thin coat renders and other rainscreen cladding finishes. A panel can incorporate windows and doors and can be made and transported in units of up to 40m2, and about 400m2 can be erected in a week by a four-man team. The system is being used on a clinical building at Great Ormond Street Hospital, which is under construction.
