Construction membranes specialist Icopal has extended its range of gas membranes with the launch of the Monarflex CO2 membrane
It is suitable for use as a damp-proof membrane to restrict the ingress of carbon dioxide in residential, education, healthcare, commercial and industrial buildings where there are low concentrations of the gas.
Loose laid with ground-supported or suspended slabs, it is a three-layer, 0.5mm-thick membrane, kitemarked to EN 13967 and manufactured to ISO 9001 from low-density polyethylene with a polyester reinforcing grid.
The membrane can also be used as a radon barrier, and can be laid over or under ground-bearing slabs as well as over the slab of suspended floors.
Monarflex CO2 has a tensile strength of 325N/50mm and tear resistance of 220N and is available in rolls 25m long and 4m wide.
