I was interested to read your recent ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV Buys a Pint with the networking organisation, Forum for the Built Environment (29 July, page 34-35). The topics ranged from the smoking ban to the hirsute nature of women in property and construction.
As a new member of the industry and a woman in her mid-twenties, I find it refreshing that the conversation seemed neither false nor stilted, something all too rare at events I attend.
All too often, networking events are full of dull people in suits with whom I have little in common. I don’t take business lightly, but when we need to develop contacts in our own time, often outside work, it is more rewarding if we enjoy ourselves at the same time.
ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV Buys a Pint has given me some enthusiasm for going to future networking events, which I’d previously been dreading.
