If you want the latest environmental information in easily digestible, bite-sized chunks, you really should log on to ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV’s sustainability channel. Phil Clark explains why
It’s has now been more than two months since we launched a sustainability channel for the ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV website. You’re busy people, so here’s a list of five environmental elements you may have missed:
Energy performance certificates
We’ve created a section dedicated to what will undoubtedly be the hottest topic in sustainability in 2008. There’s a mix of news and opinion focused on the race to meet the requirements for the certificates, which will be introduced between April and October this year. Our aim will be to offer key information, as and when you need it.
Case studies
We have now reviewed, and compiled data on, 20 projects that are establishing new standards in environmental best practice – most recently we have featured two intriguing new projects in New York.
Look out for further studies on TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s sustainability drive at his River Cottage premises and a new office in Australia. Our data and research section profiles companies that are really getting to grips with their environmental impact. This week we feature Hambleside Danelaw, a roofing maker that hopes to slash the waste it sends to landfill to three tonnes this year.
Search
Try our specialised environmental search engine, which trawls more than 650 of the best sustainable sites we’ve selected in the past six months. Or try two new regular items in the channel – the Green Gauge and the Weekend Review – which offer handy updates of the latest issues on the web.
Debates
Discuss everything from offsetting to south-facing glazing and post-occupation evaluation on the Zerochampion blog (www.zerochampion.com).
