The last paragraph of this article (“Bowmer & Kirkland pays out first £10m salary”, 1 April, page 10) is slightly misleading
As a former employee of Bowmer & Kirkland (London), it may well have taken on 200 people somewhere across the division, but in the London office alone it made a substantial number of employees redundant in 2009/10 and many other redundancies across the rest of its other companies because of the current recession.
This over-the-top payment to its directors will come as a smack in the teeth to people who have lost their jobs and have little hope of finding another job at the moment.
