There is great speculation about the causes of the warehouse fire in Atherstone, Warwickshire, last month. Some of this is inappropriate and inaccurate, and seeks to make commercial gain by linking the untimely deaths of the firefighters with aspects of the construction.

There are still many questions to be answered about the design and construction of the warehouse. Until the information is known, it is irresponsible to blame any single aspect of the construction, premature to call for changes to regulations, and insensitive to try and gain from such a tragic incident.
