A reader assesses the fortress-like nature of the proposed US embassy at Nine Elms
In response to the story 鈥溾 (20 September, www.building.co.uk) - the proposed building certainly has all the hallmarks of a castle even down to the (dry) moat and elevated position behind the perimeter wall.
The cube construction will also be much more stable in terms of withstanding any attack that might penetrate the fabric.
One wonders if the embassy will become known as Fortress Wandsworth in time?
