How can a system work that is illogical in the first place (Energy firms 鈥榤ust be fined鈥� over carbon failures, building.co.uk, 6 May)? You are asking companies that make margin from selling energy, to put in place measures to reduce their profitability. The logic does not stack. Energy firms need to be taken out of this initiative and simply asked to fund it through whatever measure appropriate.
