I am writing in reponse to Malcolm Taylor鈥檚 etter on the Woodhorn Colliery in Northumberland (9 September).
Malcolm seems unaware of what the Woodhorn Project is actually doing, which is creating a museum and archive focused on telling Northumberland stories. We are not about simply duplicating the work of coal-mining attractions.
Coal-mining is a significant part of our county鈥檚 heritage and four of our opening exhibitions focus on bringing it alive for customers. But we plan to exhibit, debate and research many other aspects of Northumberland as well.
Finally, I鈥檓 not at all concerned by the 鈥渢heme park鈥 tag. I鈥檇 rather be involved with a popular attraction than a dead one.
