More good faith may be what鈥檚 needed in the industry but unfortunately it isn鈥檛 what we鈥檙e getting

Rachel Barnes鈥� article (, page 41) on good faith was fascinating. In my opinion, her  thought that 鈥淓nglish law appears to be swimming against the tide鈥� - although I鈥檓 sure acurate - shows a misunderstanding of our country鈥檚 industry.

The good old days when optimistic ideas of trust and collaboration, like Egan鈥檚 鈥減artnering鈥� on projects, are unfortunately long gone. In the current environment it鈥檚 dog eat dog and the big dogs are the big contractors. As a subcontractor for 30 years (thankfully now retired) I hear terrible stories from former colleagues still working. More good faith may be what鈥檚 needed in the industry but unfortunately it isn鈥檛 what we鈥檙e getting.
