In regard to your article on the Passivhaus and Decent Homes refurbishments (11 February, page 50) should we expect that only empty properties will be upgraded?
Most homes are lived in and the cost of moving out, storage and staying in hotels is a deterrent, plus the disruption of daily life.
The cost of natural gas has come down world wide and the largest importer - the USA - now needs to export at a loss.
We have one company that has completed its first well and is about to start fracking (natural gas extraction) as we have enough natural gas under and around the UK to keep us going for over 100 years.
The relationship between gas and oil prices is being challenged and prices should respond to the worldwide trend.
