I don’t think that ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV gives enough weight to the personal commitment of Lord Coe to provide an athletics venue at the heart of the East End (ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV blog, 25 January)
In July 2005, he convinced the IOC that athletics - not football - could have a role in the moral and social improvement of East End children. Hence the stupid idea of building a stadium that could be demounted - so a small athletics facility rather than a big white elephant could exist in the heart of a new development.
