Plans lodged for 拢200m Cardiff waterfront development
Plans for a 拢200m residential scheme for the redevelopment of Cardiff Bay have been submitted to Cardiff Council.
Architect Scott Brownrigg鈥檚 Cardiff Pointe development for Greenbank Partnerships will see the construction of some 634 homes, including 230 houses and 400 flats in 18 and 24-storey tower blocks that cantilever out over the water.
The submission also includes an affordable housing provision of a further 217 units on two adjacent sites.
Neil MacOmish of Scott Brownrigg said the design for the development was based on a European urban model, with street squares and public plazas offering bars, cafes and community facilities.
鈥淚t creates a substantial new part to the city and bay, bringing mix and vibrancy to a complete regeneration project,鈥� he said.
鈥淭o have a waterfront site is a tremendous opportunity - to have a site that has two water frontages is unique.鈥�
He added that a linear park would connect the two public walk and cycle ways along each waterfront, and the landscaped route.
