The third annual gathering of British housebuilders took place last week in Park Lane, London, to recognise the achievements of the best companies in the industry. Here's a taste of the evening's celebrations …
Berkeley Homes took the prize in the Channel 4 4Homes Award, one of the highlights of last week's ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV Homes Quality Awards. Almost 800 of the housebuilding industry's great and good were at London's Le Meridien Grosvenor House Hotel to see Berkeley and 17 other winners collect their awards.

Illusionist Paul Zenon entertained the audience with a mixture of stand-up humour and some dangerous-looking tricks before presenting the awards.

This year's event included categories for new homes agent and IT. The Channel 4 4Homes Award was also introduced this year, based on a web poll at the 4Homes website, in which browsers were invited to vote for their dream new home by the country's top housebuilders. The line-up for the award ranged from large detached houses to trendy urban apartments. The public ultimately voted for the latter, in the shape of Berkeley's duplex penthouse at Chelsea Bridge Wharf in west London, a scheme designed by architect Scott Brownrigg.

After the official presentations, guests continued to party at a charity casino, sponsored by Barbour Index, which raised thousands of pounds for the Prince's Trust. And for some ecstatic winners, the party didn't end till dawn.
