Wates is on the hunt for subcontractors in Northern Ireland as it looks to expand its presence in the country.
Its social housing maintenance business Wates Living Space is hosting its 鈥楳eet The Buyer鈥 event in Belfast on 10 October.
This is open to small and medium-sized businesses across a wide range of trades, including scaffolding, pitched roofing, felt roofing, gas, heating and plumbing, external doors, UPVC windows, asbestos removal, electrical, plastering, painting and decorating.
The contractor, whose Living Space business provides planned and responsive maintenance services to over 500,000 homes in the UK each year, is also inviting social enterprises interested in working with it to attend as part of its pledge to spend 拢20m with the sector by 2020.
David Morgan, managing director of Wates Living Space, said: 鈥淥ur vision is to ultimately to engage a supply chain that will offer our clients the very best service, however by mobilising local businesses we will also ensure that our work in the region brings extensive opportunities for local employment and training.
鈥淲ith our extensive presence in England and Wales already established and our dedication to improving communities, we are confident that along with the right local businesses and social enterprises as supply chain partners, we can make a real positive socioeconomic impact in Northern Ireland.鈥
