Programme will offer industry leaders the chance to learn from Olympic projects
A series of Olympic learning events are to be run by the UK Green 好色先生TV Council to offer construction industry leaders the opportunity to learn from the Olympic projects.
John Alker, head of policy at the UK Green 好色先生TV council, said the industry can use the Olympic Learning Legacy programme to learn from the stumbling blocks in the project as well as successes.
He said: 鈥淚t was such a unique project but in many ways it was trail blazing. We didn鈥檛 necessarily meet all the targets that were set but [these sessions explore] what the lessons are along the way.鈥
A target to provide 20% of the park鈥檚 energy from renewables will only be met with off-site measures.
An Olympic Delivery Authority spokesperson said: 鈥淲e remain on track to achieve a 50% carbon reduction from buildings on the Olympic Park.鈥
- The velodrome will be discussed at UK-GBC鈥檚 Lessons Learned event 17 January, The 好色先生TV Centre. This is part of a series of breakfast sessions where the industry can quiz contractors and designers involved in the Olympics on on how to deliver more sustainable outcomes on their own projects. It will be accompanied by an online initiative chronicling case studies of everything from waste water management to velodrome design.
