Brookfield has been dropped from the running for the £450m Royal Liverpool hospital.

Royal Liverpool has shortlisted three bidders for the £450m Royal Liverpool hospital.

The scheme, one of the last PFI hospitals to be allowed on the market, had attracted four expressions of interest. But Brookfield has failed to make the shortlist, leaving Balfour Beatty, Carillion and Spanish firm FCC (with Interserve) in the next round of bidding.

Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust will whittle it down to two bidders by the end of the year, with a preferred bidder due next June.

Keep Our NHS Public is trying to win a judicial review into whether the proposal offers value for money. Speaking exclusively to ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV, the man leading the appeal, Sam Semoff, said that his solicitor has written to the government detailing eight points on which it is challenging approval of the hospital’s business case. The government has responded and now Semoff and Allyson Pollock, author of NHS Plc, are examining the response before deciding on their next move.
