Galliard Homes JV behind proposal at canalside site
Plans for a £165m residential scheme next door to Birmingham’s Main Line Canal have been submitted to the city council.
Called Soho Wharf, the scheme is being developed a joint venture between Galliard Homes and property investment specialist Apsley House Capital and will involve building more than 750 homes on a derelict site on the city’s Dudley Road.
It has been designed by London practice Claridge Architects with the project team also including structural engineers Horwitz Associates, mechanical engineer DW Pointer & Partners and planning consultant Turley.
The work includes new bridge links to the site which was once home to a silverworks.
Claridge Architects also worked with the joint venture on its Timber Yard development in Southside.
