Scheme due to finish in 2020
Morgan Sindall has been appointed to deliver a £10m student accommodation scheme for Trinity College in Cambridge.
The scheme is located on the site of the 203-year-old Cambridge Union – the oldest debating society in the world.
The building (pictured below) will feature six postgraduate studios, as well as a restaurant, bike storage and plant on the ground floor and basement.
Othrs work on the job include local firm Bland Brown & Cole Architects, QS Faithful + Gould, structural and civil engineer Smith and Wallwork, project manager Bidwells and M&E consultant Cunnington Clark.
A three month gap in construction will take place from May next year as archaeologists look into whether the site covers the King’s Ditch, a Saxon-era city defence system.
The building is due to take in students from October 2020.
