Architect Gort Scott behind 拢12m scheme

Sir Robert McAlpine has broken ground on the latest office project at Stanhope鈥檚 White City project.

The developer, along with joint venture partners Mitsui Fudosan and Alberta Investment Management Corporation, said McAlpine has started work as construction manager on the 拢12m Gateway West building at White City Place.

The 拢12m scheme is due to complete next summer

The four-storey brick and ceramic building will provide 25,000 sq ft of office space and is due to be completed next July.

The project has been designed by Gort Scott, while Deloitte is the QS, Sweco the M&E consultant and AKT II is carrying out structural engineering.

Gateway West is the latest addition to the White City Place development following the start of construction last October of the 拢100m, 260,000 sq ft Gateway Central building, part let as French cosmetics firm L鈥橭real鈥檚 new headquarters, which is due to complete by the end of 2022. McAlpine is building this scheme as well.

It also Laing O鈥橰ourke鈥檚 recent start of construction of the new 1 Wood Crescent building at Television Centre, part let to US fashion brands Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger and their parent company PVH Corp.

White City Place currently has more than 1 million sq ft of office, laboratory and retail accommodation, with the three new Gateway buildings will provide a further 800,000 sq ft of space.
