Former BPF boss to lead regeneration charge at Old Oak and Park Royal

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan is proposing to appoint former British Property Federation chief executive Liz Peace as the new Chair of the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation.

Peace鈥檚 appointment, which is subject to confirmation by London Assembly members, would see her leading the delivery of thousands of new homes and jobs at the West London site. 

The Mayor鈥檚 office said development of the area had the potential to deliver 24,000 new homes and 55,000 jobs in Old Oak and 1,500 new homes and 10,000 jobs on the adjoining Park Royal industrial estate.

Khan said one of Peace鈥檚 first priorities would be to implement the recommendations of a review he鈥檇 commissioned last year that found regeneration of the site had been 鈥渓eft in a mess鈥� by the former Mayor, Boris Johnson. 

Khan said: 鈥淥ld Oak and Park Royal is one of the most important regeneration projects in London and is set to be the largest new development in the capital since the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympic Games.
