Scheme to sit on former site of 100-year-old department store in Kensington
ISG has nabbed a £47m job to build a mixed-use scheme in west London.
The firm will construct office and retail space for property investment firm AshbyCapital at 127 Kensington High Street – the former site of the Pontings department store, which closed in 1970 after more than 100 years in business.
Part of the original structure will be retained, with ISG adding two additional floors to double the current volume of office space on the site – up to 12,081m2.
There will also be a new retail arcade improving connectivity to High Street Kensington tube station from Wrights Lane.
The scheme has been designed by architect Pilbrow & Partners and ISG will be joined on the job by project manager Buro Four and engineer WSP.
