Job secured via 拢5bn NHS framework

Interserve has been appointed to construct a 拢13m child and adolescent mental health unit for West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership.

The unit will be built at St Mary鈥檚 Hospital in Armley, Leeds, and will support young people experiencing complex mental illness, many of whom currently have to travel a long way to see specialists.

There are currently eight general adolescent beds which are provided by Leeds Community NHS Healthcare Trust in Leeds.

This new unit will bring a significant increase and provide 18 specialist places and four psychiatric intensive care unit beds.

The project is funded by NHS England capital funds, and was awarded via the P22 contracting framework, which Interserve won a place on in 2016.

The P22 framework includes contractors Bam, Kier, Graham Construction, and Galliford Try as well as Interserve and IHP 鈥 a Vinci and Sir Robert McAlpine joint venture.

The Department of Health predicted the framework would be worth between 拢2bn and 拢5bn over four years.
