King鈥檚 Cross scheme built by Bam
The latest part of Argent鈥檚 King鈥檚 Cross redevelopment has completed with the 拢100m Coal Drops Yard boutique retail scheme opening its doors today (Friday).
Designed by Heatherwick Studio, the scheme has been built at the site鈥檚 Victorian coal drops and uses over 80,000 slate roof tiles from north Wales for the building鈥檚 landmark 鈥榢issing鈥 roof. Built by Bam, the 100,000 sq ft space includes 300,000 bricks reclaimed from sites in Kent and Sussex.
Retailers taking space at the scheme include fashion brand Paul Smith, electronics giant Samsung and menswear label Universal Works.
Arup carried out stuctural engineering work at the development which is expected to see attract 12 million visitors annually. Services engineer was Hoare Lea.
