Japanese tech giant expected to discuss level of UK government support

Hitachi will meet UK government ministers this week to begin talks on a deal for its planned £14bn Wylfa nuclear plant in north Wales.

The chairman of the Japanese tech giant, Hiroaki Nakanishi, will fly into London this week to meet business secretary Greg Clark, according to the Sunday Times.

The talks are likely to centre on a guaranteed price for Horizon’s electricity - known as the strike price - and the level of financial support the UK government is willing to stump up.
