Lab in Filton near Bristol will test future materials
Galliford Try has won a 拢25m deal to build a testing centre for large structural parts involved in manufacturing aircraft.
The contractor will build the advanced development and testing centre for Airbus UK at the client鈥檚 Filton base near Bristol.
The facility will include a flexible physical test environment that will form a proving ground for future technologies, new materials and manufacturing techniques, as well as efficient testing processes.
Around 250 Airbus UK engineers will be based in the new facility, alongside Airbus鈥檚 corporate-level research and technology network.
Mark Wusthoff, Galliford Try鈥檚 south west area director, said the contract was a 鈥渟ignificant step forward鈥 for the firm.
