Scheme will serve city鈥檚 White Rose Shopping Centre

Plans for a 拢22m railway station in Leeds have been submitted to the city council.

Drawn up by ADP, the scheme for developer Munroe K and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority would be called White Rose station and would cater for a nearby office park, owned by Munroe K, a college and the Landsec-owned White Rose Shopping Centre which opened in 1997.

It will be on the Leeds to Dewsbury section of the trans-Pennine route with the authority expecting close to 350,000 trips a year being made to and from the station.

The scheme is part of a wider 拢1bn scheme being planned for the area which will also include new retail and office space, a hotel and primary school.
