Council appoints housebuilder to be its delivery partner
Countryside Properties has been tapped to deliver a mixed-use regeneration scheme in Brent.
Appointed in conjunction with housing association Home Group, Countryside has been named as the development partner for the Peel Site development in South Kilburn by Brent council.
The £137m contract will see the housebuilder deliver a residentially-led mixed-use development which will also include a health centre, commercial and retail space, as well as public realm improvements.
There were 12 bids for the job, none of which were according to the contract award notice, which was published to the Official Journal yesterday (26 June).
The appointment came on the same day Countryside published a trading update for its third quarter.
The firm, which bought Leicestershire-based housebuilder Westleigh earlier this year, completed nearly a third more homes in the three months to the end of June, the firm said today.
Countryside, which acquired Westleigh in April for £135m, said total completions between 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2018 stood at 1,060, up 27%.
The group said its partnerships division continued to grow, boosted by the Westleigh deal, with total completions up 46% to 823 homes, sales outlets increasing from 19 to 30, and a further 3,722 plots secured in the period.
