Costain has taken over Lakesmere鈥檚 work at the revamp of London Bridge station after the cladding and roofing specialist entered administration yesterday.
A spokesperson for Network Rail said in a statement that principle contractor Costain鈥檚 鈥漮wn self-delivery team鈥 would now work on the project.
鈥淟ondon Bridge station remains on programme. The concourse will open in January, with completion set for autumn 2018,鈥 the spokesperson added.
Lakesmere was working as the external walls subcontractor on the upgrade of London鈥檚 fourth busiest station on behalf of Costain, according to data provider Barbour ABI.
Costain won the 拢400m contract to carry out the detailed design and delivery of the project in November 2011.
This included the provision of a new concourse at street level, with entrances on Tooley Street and St Thomas Street, as well as the redevelopment of exit points to improve access to and from the station.
