Latest phase of Ram Quarter scheme includes 50 homes, office and workshop space
The latest phase of the 拢600m Ram Brewery redevelopment in south London has been given planning consent by Wandsworth council.
Shanghai-based Greenland Group is the developer.
Phase three of the Ram Quarter regeneration involves construction of 50 new homes, office and workshop space, and public realm works on the site of Britain鈥檚 oldest brewery.
Church Row Terrace, a grade II-listed residential street, will be restored as part of the scheme, and will form 16 of the 50 new homes.
Other phases of the redevelopment involve restoration and conversion of the brewery building into a heritage centre, microbrewery and 14 warehouse-style flats.
Once the scheme is completed, the 1.8 ha site will comprise 663 private and affordable homes, commercial and retail space, restaurants and green spaces. The River Wandle, previously hidden behind the brewery walls, will be a central feature of the development.
Phase one of the Ram Quarter will complete at the end of 2017.
Wenhao Qian, managing director for Greenland Group, said: 鈥淲e are delighted that Wandsworth Council share our excitement for Ram Quarter and have granted consent to phase three of the landmark project. We look forward to continuing to deliver our mixed-use development for Wandsworth and welcoming our first residents soon.鈥
