David Brown is to leave the organisation in September
Transport for the North (TfN) has announced that its chief executive David Brown is to leave the organisation in September.
He is joining Arriva Rail North, which operates the Northern rail franchise, as its new managing director.
TfN said Brown has been at the forefront of shaping the future of Transport in the North of England for the last two years. The organisation added that Brown has also been instrumental in the development of the statutory transport plan designed to drive economic growth in the North of the country through the development of the region鈥檚 transport infrastructure.
TfN said it would start the search for a new chief executive shortly.
John Cridland, TfN chair, said: 鈥淒avid leaves Transport for the North with our thanks and best wishes for the future.
鈥淗e has been instrumental in developing TfN鈥檚 vision of a thriving North of England where modern transport connections drive economic growth and support an excellent quality of life.
鈥淗e leaves a strong organisation ready to become the UK鈥檚 first statutory body with a clear direction to drive economic growth in the North.鈥
