Three firms team up to bid for forthcoming HS2 contracts
Carillion, Eiffage and Kier have formed a new joint venture to bid for HS2 contracts.
The three firms have formed the JV in advance of the first set of tenders for the mammoth 拢50bn project which are expected to be open for bids in September.
The engineering and design firms have experience both financing and operating rail projects in the UK and Europe with Kier contracted as a major delivery partner for Crossrail, Eiffage delivering the 鈧�3bn Bretagne to Pays de la Loire in France and Carillion working on the UK鈥檚 only current high speed line from the Channel Tunnel to St Pancras.
Speaking about the new JV Carillion chief executive, Richard Howson, said: 鈥淲e are delighted to announce the formation of this new joint venture that brings together three companies with world-class skills and resources, and an absolute focus on safety and quality, which will be required for the successful delivery of the High Speed 2 programme.
