Architect wins three contracts during prime minister鈥檚 visit to country
Architect Benoy has won three contracts in India worth a combined 拢1.6m during the prime minister鈥檚 visit to the sub-continent.
They are a high-end 195,000m2 residential scheme called GKW Residences in Bangalore, a 50,000m2 retail job called RMZ Bangalore and 270,000m2 mixed-use scheme called High Street Phoenix in Mumbai.
The firm declined to break down the individual contract values.
Benoy chairman Graham Cartledge was part of the Prime Minister鈥檚 delegation to India this week, which also included representatives from Balfour Beatty, Arup and Mott MacDonald.
In a statement, the architect of the Bullring shopping centre in Birmingham said it was the only architect and small and medium sized enterprise on the visit.
Cartledge said: 鈥淭hese milestone schemes will continue to realise the aspirations of our clients and ultimately contribute to the evolution of the built environment in India. I am honoured to join the Prime Minister David Cameron, Dr Vince Cable, and a prestigious and diverse business delegation on this, the first official visit.鈥�
Benoy, which also designed the Westfield shopping centre in London, entered India in 2005 and works in 17 towns and cities.
