Contractor expects to start on site next spring
Bam has been appointed as the contractor for a new school in Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders.
The new campus, which will replace Jedburgh Grammar, Howdenburn and Parkside primary schools, will serve 2 to 18 year olds and provide further education opportunities.
The scheme is part of the Scottish government鈥檚 拢1.8bn Schools for the Future programme and is being delivered by the Scottish Borders council and its development partner Hub South East Scotland. Bam is on Hub South East鈥檚 list of contractors.
Subject to planning permission work on the new school is due to start in spring next year and complete in 2020.
Scotland鈥檚 deputy first minister John Swinney said the Schools for the Future initiative originally planned to build or refurbish 55 schools across Scotland at the outset of the programme in 2009 but more than double that number have benefitted.
