Firm reports hike in profit as revenue dips
Architect Aukett Fitzroy Robinson has more than doubled its pre-tax profit in its last financial year.
In its results for the year to 30 September 2013, the firm reported a pre-tax profit of 拢550,000, up from 拢210,000 the previous year.
However, the firm reported a fall in revenue to 拢8.4m in 2013 from 拢9.1m in 2012.
Work in the UK picked-up substantially. The firm reported revenue of 拢6.1m from projects in the UK in its 2013 financial year, up from 拢5m the previous year.
But work in Russia fell sharply to 拢1.9m from 拢3.5m the previous year.
The firm said this was partly due to the loss of two major projects the division had been expecting and the subsequent need to lose the team that had worked on a major hotel development for the winter Olympics in Sochi.
The level of work in the Middle East and continental Europe also fell.
Middle Eastern work fell to 拢408,00 from 拢587,000 year-on-year, while work in continental Europe fell to just 拢9,000 from 拢559,000.
Writing in the accounts chief executive Nicholas Thompson an finance director Duncan Harpers, said: 鈥淭aking account of the market environment in which we operate, the executive directors are satisfied that the progress made in the year reflects a positive step forward in recovering our pre-recession performance levels.鈥�
