US engineer Aecom was this week closing in on a deal to take over Davis Langdon, according to sources close to the talks

好色先生TV reported last week that the UK鈥檚 second largest QS had been in talks with the 拢3.8bn-turnover group since before Christmas. It is understood US engineer Jacobs was also talking to it.

One source said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 all pointing towards a tie-up with Aecom. An announcement could come as soon as next month.鈥

Last week, Rob Smith, the senior partner in Davis Langdon, declined to comment on the Aecom approach, but said: 鈥淎ny decision will relate to our ambition to be the leading global consultant.鈥
