Victory Plaza, on the former London Olympics site East Village, comprises 26- and 29-storey towers for developer Get Living. Mace used its “rising factory” construction process to build the towers. Retail and leisure facilities are provided in the ground-floor units linking the towers on their lowest storeys, topped with private residential roof terraces

01 / Introduction

Purpose-built rental accommodation – known as build-to-rent (BTR) – has grown from occupying a niche corner of the residential market to becoming an increasingly common feature in towns and cities across the UK.

At 237,000 homes, there are now almost a quarter of a million BTR homes across the UK that are either completed (73,739), under construction (47,464) or in planning (115,859), according to the British Property Federation (BPF). Over the past year, there has been a 44% increase in the number of units in planning, making it the country’s fastest-growing housing sub‑sector. For this cost model, we will be looking at a regional BTR development in the Home Counties.
