Charcon’s kerb weighs less than 6kg, is made from 88% recycled material and highly durable
Charcon, a division of Aggregate Industries, has launched a lightweight kerb suitable for all highway applications including hospital road networks. Called Durakerb, the product is made from a polymer blend and weighs less than 6kg - which the company says means it is four times faster to lay than a concrete equivalent. Charcon also said the kerb is made from 88% recycled material and reduces carbon emissions from manufacture by 20%. In tests, forklift trucks and HGVs were repeatedly driven at the kerb without it cracking or chipping.
