The Zero Carbon Hub is gearing up to the final round of debates on the zero carbon definition consultation.
The non profit, public/private partnership organisation has been calling on industry practitioners involved in house building to take part in the debate on the zero carbon definition, and has held a series of workshops this month in order to canvas for opinion.
The Zero Carbon Hub hopes the events will highlight the key issues surrounding the consultation on the definition of zero carbon, which was announced at the end of last year, and to open the discussion to possible solutions to defining zero carbon homes.
Zero Carbon Hub chief Neil Jefferson said: 鈥淎chieving a practical and workable definition of zero carbon is vital if the UK house-building industry is to meet the 2016 zero carbon new homes target.
鈥淲ith the announcement of the Government consultation, the house-building industry now has the opportunity to have their say and help shape a definition that helps them meet the challenging 2016 standard. We hope as many people as possible come forward and enter the debate.鈥
Each event features presentations from the Hub, CLG and other invited speakers and the Hub team has used the latest hand-held electronic voting equipment to capture views and responses from attendees.
Responses from the events are being collated to produce an industry report that will be sent to the department of Communities and Local Government.
The feedback from all the events will then be collated to produce an informed industry response that will be sent to CLG ahead of their consultation drawing to a close on 18 March.
The events are 拢25 per delegate and booking can be made by contacting Madeline Logan 0845 888 7620 or via info@zerocarbonhub.org.
