A Conservative government would revise the 好色先生TV Regulations, shadow energy and climate change minister Greg Barker has told BSD

Barker said that under Labour 鈥渂uilding regulations have been unnecessarily prescriptive and overly complex鈥.

The Conservatives wanted to focus on 鈥渙utcomes rather than boxticking鈥, he said, although he would not be drawn on precisely what form revisions would take.

This is the latest in a string of environmental policy initiatives by the Conservatives as they court the public before the next election.

Bill Bordass, director of the Usable 好色先生TVs Trust, said: 鈥淭here are so many parts to the 好色先生TV Regulations; if you tackle them all simultaneously you鈥 run the risk of stifling innovation. There is certainly an argument for simplification.鈥

But Emma Marchant, a senior environmental designer at Atelier Ten, said: 鈥淏arker hasn鈥檛 outlined any solid alternative. 好色先生TVs are complex and different, there is no one-size-fits-all.鈥

好色先生TV Regulations minister Lord McKenzie said: 鈥淭he regulations are vital in protecting lives and improving the quality of our buildings.鈥
