Plan to crown Westminster Abbey with 拢10m new roof

Ridiculous 鈥� the abbey is not supposed to have a tower, as the supporting piers were minimised to allow for the optimal internal viewing of state ceremonial. For 750 years this has been part of its character, and expressive of its function as coronation church. All that can be achieved is an eye catcher for a building that transcends such vanity, whilst coronas are more Scottish than English. It would be a total folly and I question the integrity of those who seek it.

What a nonsense set of data:

  • 'restricted supply' compared to when? has anyone looked at the number of for sale boards around!
  • 'rate of decline continued to ease'鈥� so values are still going down then.
  • wow a 5% increase in 'POTENTIAL buyers', and from what base鈥� I'll tell you - 5% up from the historically low levels.
  • and lastly wow, vendors are getting 2.7% more of their asking price鈥� nothing at all to do with REALISTIC PRICING by estate agents.

Hometrack = vested interest, no amount of spin can hide the fact that these paltry figures were the spring bounce, fasten your seatbelts this ain't over yet.

Adult minimum wage to increase to 拢5.73

I was an apprentice hairdresser for 2 years and had to quit due to getting paid under 拢85 a week for 45 hours a week work. It makes me sick to think i was working so hard for that little, and getting no training or lunch breaks. The goverment needs to sort wages out for under 18's and make sure that people who are doing apprenticeships get paid at least minimum wage if they are receiving no breaks and no training.

Escos: One of our team is missing

Someone should have mentioned in the article that Scandinavian countries, Germany, France, well in fact most other countries seemed to have set up and operated district heating services successfully. It's another example of our useless energy market. Maybe we need to look at the mess caused by deregulation and numerous useless policies?
