ASSA ABLOY Security Doors has manufactured and installed over 550 fire doors for One New Change, a contemporary office and retail development in London. The fire doors have a 120-minute fire rating and have been tested in accordance with BS 476: Part 22: 1987 and BS EN 1634-1:2000, and are accredited under Certifire registration. Fire doors with acoustic properties were also supplied to provide sound insulation as well as fire protection in some areas. The company says that steel doors help to prevent the spread of fire and can maximise evacuation times, which is important in high traffic areas.
